Cialis and Erectile Dysfunction

Erectile Dysfunction or Impotence is a medical problem in which a man is unable to consummate sexual intercourse. This is due to the fact that he is unable to have or sustain an erection long enough to have sex properly.

This condition, whether it is due to physical or psychological factors or a combined form of both, is an emotional strain on both the partners. Sometimes having just one such episode can make you believe that you are suffering from this condition but that may not be the case.

A feeling of nervousness due to a bad experience, past episode of impotence, work related stress or stress due to family affairs, depression or lack of confidence, a turbulent relationship with your partner or certain negative feelings maybe some of the reasons to cause this condition psychologically. But it is not just an emotional disturbance that can cause this problem in men’s health.

There are certain other physical medical ailments that can lead to this too. These may be: diabetes, hypertension, atherosclerosis or the hardening of arteries. Stress, fatigue, brain or certain medical problems like spinal cord injuries, hypogonadism which leads to lower testosterone levels, liver or kidney failure, multiple sclerosis, Parkinson’s disease, radiation therapy to the testicles and stroke, alcohol and tobacco are some of the known causes of this disorder in men’s sexual health.
Others causes can be blood pressure and blood sugar, if these are not controlled. Certain medicines, any hormonal imbalance, smoking and drug abuse are some frequent causes too.

It is important to communicate openly and honestly with your partner so that you both help each other during this period. Some couples also go in for counseling to discuss their feelings openly. You must keep the communication channels open right through the entire treatment and even afterwards to make a success of your relationship with each other. It is proved that those couples who work as a team have a better and more successful treatment.
